REFURB & RESTORATION
Throughout the UK, there are thousands of buildings lying derelict or in a poor state of repair - buildings that can be brought back into useful existence, as places of work, places to live or as places of interest.
Showcasing sustainable refurb and restoration, Revive will examine in detail the ways in which to deliver a successful project, from the initial stages of funding and planning through to the on-site practicalities of dealing with often problematic sites. In so doing, Revive will provide a showcase for the skills and artisan trades often required to carry out such complex projects, whilst also presenting best-practice case studies and beautifully illustrated examples of restoration work.
Alongside the main conference, which will discuss seminal issues, such as heritage, conservation and adaption, there will be seminar workshops run by leading authorities. The seminars will emphasise the importance of urban restoration and sustainable development and will be open to all conference delegates to attend.

In the City: CARBON - The New Currency of Business
This conference represents the second date in the 2006 programme of 'In the City' Symposium events, hosted by sustain at the very heart of the UK commercial marketplace, the London Stock Exchange.
The core element of the symposiumon Sustainability, Climate Change and the City is the one-day conference programme, compiled under the direction of the sustain editorial team. In addition, there are three complementary sponsored workshop seminars, plus structured networking opportunities.
The event is designed to showcase and debate the issues surrounding Carbon as they affect all stakeholders active in the business arena, from government and the NGOs, through investors and markets, to business and industry. Given that the corporate sector is already gearing up to calculate, trade, offset and report on emissions, the conference will look to answer the question: 'is Carbon the New Currency of Business?'
